Cyclone Michaung’s torrential rains and flooding destroyed homes, displaced families, and disrupted communities in Andhra Pradesh. ADRA’s response was immediate: distributing essential food, hygiene kits, cash transfers, and clearing relief camps. In the coastal fishing community, 1,200 boats were lost. Families with no livelihood faced desperation. ADRA’s on-ground presence helped restore dignity—supplying critical materials and advocating for recovery support.
Because of swift donations and partnerships, lives could be saved, homes could be rebuilt, and communities could begin to heal.
Our Impact in Disaster Preparedness and Response
- We work with communities living in vulnerable areas to equip them with the training and resources to deal with disasters and rebuild their lives.
- We deploy rapid assessments, distribute food, non-food items, cash transfers, emergency water, sanitation, hygiene kits, and temporary shelter.
- We coordinate with government and partners, and preposition resources to respond quickly when crisis hits.
