Location: Fathepur, Kaushambi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shajanpur, Kheri, Raebaeilly, Sitapur, Unano, Chandauli, Gazipur (Uttar Pradesh)

 

 

Job Purpose:

ADRA India is looking for Cluster Coordinators to effectively implement the project on the reduction of zero-dose children and strengthening Routine Immunization in 15 high priority districts of Uttar Pradesh. Under Gavi HSS-3, the vaccine alliance, ADRA India shall implement the UNICEF supported program ensuring alignment with the national health policies and GoUP.

Despite a significant increase in Routine immunization coverage in Uttar Pradesh, Zero-Dose children reflect that there are specific children and families left out to ensure full immunization, these children and families need to be mobilized and motivated to take the routine vaccinations. The families of Zero-Dose children are scattered across the districts and blocks. Community mobilization plays an important role in identifying zero doses and missed or left-out children, identifying reasons for not vaccinating children, convincing parents and caregivers to immunize their children and finally ensuring complete immunization of children.

The Cluster Coordinators under the guidance of CSO Coordinators will be playing a crucial role in ensuring that all children within a specific geographical area receive the essential Zero Dose vaccinations. He/she shall coordinate, implement, and monitor vaccination program activities aimed at reducing the number of zero-dose children in his/her assigned clusters, ensuring every child receives the necessary immunizations.

 

A.    Major Tasks/Duties: 

·       Creating village/city social and demographic profiles areas of the project area.

·       Identify families with Zero-dose children, families with VAB; Positive deviant families; Local influencers; etc.

·       Integrate the Zero Dose / VAB communities and missed areas in service delivery micro plans or communication action plans through advocacy at the block level.

·       Facilitate house-to-house engagements by ASHAs/mobilizers to counsel Zero Dose       

and vaccine-hesitant families and refer them to immunization services.

·       Planning and execution of demand promotion and community engagement for immunization, maternal and newborn, and integrated primary health care.

·       Support FLWs/ASHAs in registration and monthly updates of the vaccination status of Zero-dose children in e-KAVACH/U-WIN or any other reporting structure.

·       Conduct special interventions to increase male participation in RI and MCH care.

·       Refresher training sessions of community structures: VHSNC and MAS, for feedback on services and taking social accountability for RI and MCH care

·       Support supervisory cadre (ASHA facilitator, Community Health Officer, etc.) in extending supportive supervision to FLWs and ensure regular tracking of Zero Dose children.

·       Participate actively in BTFI and other relevant meetings- share community feedback and propose action plans for improvement.

·       Work Plan:

Session day- monitoring, support in mobilization, and feedback to lock two days in a week- 8 days in a month.

Engaging CBOs for mobilization- pre-session day.

Engaging FLWs for follow-up on the next day of the session 8 days in a month.

 

B.    General Tasks:

 

·        Provide exhaustive formal orientation and necessary training to the FLWs and CAG members regularly.

·        Maintain partnership with the block/urban health department and development partners such as UNICEF to plan and implement social mobilization/IEC activities related to Routine immunization.

·        Initiate and involve local influencers in the formation of a Community Action Group (CAG) at the village/ward level. Ensure that at least one CAG is formed in each village/urban/ASHA area.

 

C.    Monitoring and Reporting:

·        Closely Monitor RI sessions and daily reporting of activities using the appropriate reporting mechanism (Google sheet/App/WhatsApp/SMS/manual reporting).

·        Obtain consolidated reports on the above-mentioned areas from ASHAs daily and share them with the CSO Coordinators.

·        Prepare and share monthly/bi-monthly reports related to program updates, progress, and challenges faced during the implementation of activities.

 

 

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Qualifications:

       Preferably have high school certificates.

       At least 3-5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in public health or

      immunization programs.

       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

       Familiarity with the PRI, Village/ Urban Committees, and local systems and policies.

 

Preferred Skills:

       Experience in vaccine promotion and disease prevention projects.

       Knowledge of public health principles and practices.

       Ability to speak local languages.
