ADRA India Signs MoU with DHL Group to Strengthen Emergency Response through Logistics Support

New Delhi, April 10, 2025 — ADRA India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DHL Group (DHL) to enhance emergency response speed, quality, and effectiveness during natural disasters across India.

As part of the partnership, DHL will provide critical logistics support to ADRA India, including handling, sorting, inventory management, and temporary storage of relief materials at airports and other points of entry. This service will be provided at no cost to ADRA India, allowing the organization to focus on delivering humanitarian aid to communities affected by emergencies.

This partnership reflects ADRA India’s strategic commitment to investing in anticipatory action, preparedness, and locally led humanitarian response. DHL’s deployment of its Disaster Response Team (DRT), trained to manage emergency logistics in high-pressure environments, adds unique operational strength to the partnership.

“We are grateful to formalize this partnership with DHL, a global leader in logistics,” said Santhosh Srikanth, Country Director, ADRA India. “This collaboration will significantly strengthen ADRA India’s emergency response capabilities, ensuring timely and efficient support to communities in crisis.”

ADRA India has been at the forefront of humanitarian action for over 30 years, responding to emergencies across the country—from floods in Kerala and Assam to cyclones in Odisha and COVID-19 relief. Working in partnership with local communities, governments, and other agencies, ADRA India provides immediate relief such as food, water, shelter, and health services while supporting long-term recovery and resilience-building efforts.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to provide humanitarian relief. By combining our strengths, we aim to make a profound impact on society and the humanitarian sector in India. We believe that our combined expertise can help build resilient communities, and provide hope in times of crisis,” says Amardeep Choudhary, Resident Manager, South Asia, DHL Group.

DHL’s experience in managing logistics for humanitarian emergencies around the world will complement ADRA India’s work on the ground, particularly in hard-to-reach and high-risk areas.

By working together, ADRA India and DHL aim to create faster, more coordinated humanitarian supply chains, ensuring that help arrives where and when it’s needed most.
