The Birds and the Bees Talk Programme
Nurturing the youth to become responsible and healthy citizens of tomorrow..
Reckitt Benckiser, with its consortium of partners (ADRA), has developed ‘The Birds and the Bees Talk’; a comprehensive growing up, life skills curriculum for 10-19 years old. It will reach out to ~2 million children across 6 North East States of India.
The key objectives of the programme are:
– Empower adolescents with critical lifesaving information that promotes healthy behavior to grow into responsible, healthy adults.
– Equip them with essential life skills, knowledge, attitude and values.
The purpose is to touch the life of every adolescent in the North East states so that they show improved knowledge and awareness about preventive behaviors, sexual health and gender. They are more confident, self-aware and respectful and grow up to be responsible and informed adults.
With support from the state governments TBBT is reaching adolescents through public and private schools across six states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Nagaland in first two years.
